It must sound like a broken reord, when each week for the last month, the Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament reports continue to brag about the big bass and five fish limits brought to the scales in just 3 1/2 hours. This week is no exception, in fact, this week was probably one of the best Wednesday nights for big bass in years. When it takes 20 to 21 pounds to be in the top four places, fishing is undoubtedly outstanding and it is here on Lake of the Ozarks.
There were twenty-three bass over 4 pounds weighed. Six were over 5 pounds, four over 6 pounds and one over 7 pounds, which was big bass of the tournament. Just like the last couple of weeks, several teams out of the 45 teams that fished the tournament had bass over 4 pounds, but because of the heavy weights recorded, dumped their fish instead of standing in line for naught. The total weight of bass brought to the scales was 261 pounds.
Lake of the Ozarks is slowly clearing with medium generation, which has changed the bite slightly. Jigs, crank baits and plastic baits are the baits of choice.
